Rachael
Taplin first got a taste for franchising when she set up About
My Area, an online directory business franchised across the
UK, with her husband John. After taking just 12 months to
set it up it wasn’t long before they found themselves
running a £2m business. |

Keen
to share her own experiences of balancing work with being
a mother to her daughter Annabel, Rachael established the
Mums in Control brand. It started as an online portal
to help mothers wanting to run businesses around their children,
providing advice and support, and has developed into an all
encompassing business centre providing franchising opportunities
that mothers can run alongside their family commitments.

The
most recent addition to the Mums in Control stable is the
Mums in Control magazine launched in January. The magazine
not only provides a unique business opportunity but with online
and offline distribution, it is set to become essential reading
for working mothers across the UK.
