Those of you who have been hanging around Motivating Mum for a few months will know that back in March I organised a charity mentoring festival called Mummy Mentoring Month. As part of that I asked successful businessmums to send in guest blogs offering support and advice to their fellow mums in business.
The response was phenomenal - I planned to publish one blog a day during March, and I figured I might have to fill in the gaps here and there - may be do my normal one blog a week or even a bit more, but instead I found myself with enough daily blogs to last me well into the middle of April.
Some of the blogs were written by professional coaches and very experienced successful businessswomen - for other writers it was their first attempt at writing a blog. They covered all kinds of subjects that are useful for new business owners - such as setting up a webiste, marketing and PR, Social Media, how to network. On top of that there is a lot of personal advice - how to deal with overwhelm, how to get motivated and other similar blogs.
Somewhere along the way, I decided to put all the blogs together into an ebook, and hopefully to continue raising a small amount of money for my chosen charity, Nema, which provides support and advice to mums in rural Mozambique - a sister business to my own really, althought the support and advice they need is more about putting food on the table, avoiding disease and educating theri children.
All in all, although I didn't set out to produce a how-to guide for setting up a business, I've gone a fair way towards it. I'm sure you will be inspired and educated by the various authors who have donated their blogs.I hesitate to say its really good - it doesn't feel right to praise your own work like that. But I will say that I am really proud of the qualityof work that my fellow authors contributed to this book, and reallypleased that i ahve been able to get it published.
So here is my very first ebook, Motivating Business Mums, which has been beautifully published by Brightword Publishing. 20% of my royalties from the sale of this book will be going to Nema, so get your copy now.
Other books by Brightword Publishing include:
The Start Up Kit , Go Global, Start up Saturday Workbook and 50 Fabulous Franchises by Emma Jones
