Here we are at New Year again, and I see that many of my favourite bloggers are making resolutions, and many business owners are setting business goals for 2012.
For many of you who are reasonably new in business, one of your goals may be to get yourself some training in order to help you develop the online side of your business. The questions I get asked the most by mums involve such subjects as
- SEO
- Building an email list
- Social media marketing and Blogging
- Affiliate selling
- Confidence building
I can honestly say that just over one year ago, when I took over Motivating Mum, I didn’t have a clue about any of this stuff. I needed to get some training about all things online, and I needed it fast.
I did a little bit of research and as luck would have it I hit upon the internet marketing tools of Jeremy Gislason.
Over the past year, I must have downloaded and read hundreds of reports from Jeremy’s various sites. I’ve found them so useful over the past year, that I just keep going back – and with new products being added every few weeks there is a huge amount to read and digest.
One of Jeremy’s sites stands out for me head and shoulders above the others – it’s called Surefire Wealth. The title refers to the idea that the site provides lots of material which you can resell and make money from, if that is the way you want your business to go. If you don’t have a business idea yet, then this is certainly one business that you could set up and run easily from home – everything you need is available within the site.
However if you are not in the business of selling information products, but you are just looking for some training, then I think the site is great for that too. I’m not big into affiliate marketing yet, although it is one of my targets for the New Year, but I have certainly learned a lot about list building and SEO, not to mention blogging tips, keyword research and all sorts of other useful stuff. This training has been invaluable for me helping me to decide exactly where I am going with Motivating Mum, and how best to get there.
When I go on the site, I just ignore the products written for different niches (like anti-ageing or getting fit) and just concentrate on the ebooks written for the internet marketing niche (which is the majority of them). There are training videos too – personally I’m not a fan of watching videos, but if you are, then there is plenty of useful viewing material.
There are a couple of downsides to the site: First of all it is vast – and a little confusing – products have been jammed together willy nilly and in my opinion are not very well organised. However it is worth digging as there is a huge amount of very good material here if you keep looking.
The other main drawback is that of course there are various different levels of membership – so you start off with access to only a small part of the site and invariably end up wanting (and paying for) more. But if like me you are willing to invest in your self-development and training then that is not necessarily a bad thing.
