Motivating Mum East Hertfordshire events continue at a pace throughout the autumn

Hope everyone is having a good half term! Since the clocks changed, and Halloween has passed, winter seems to be well on the way. I am very pleased to be able to report on the success of the most recent networking event that took place for this group, on the 18 th October in Hertford.

Saija, from www.mahondigital.co.uk shared with us how, whilst on maternity leave from her very ‘full on’ role in a London media agency three years ago, and not wanting to continue the long hours but spend more time with her family, she started to see if it might be possible to start up her own online business.

By meeting potential new clients and making presentations, with her baby coming along too, Saija was able to decide not to return to her employment and to launch her own business instead, as a sole trader.

Mahon Digital is now a limited company (with the business being based from Saija’s home) and it keeps growing over time. There is a small team of self-employed professionals who work flexibly from their own homes alongside Saija.

“I still get to enjoy a breakfast with my family every morning and make sure I pick up my little girl from her nursery in time for tea and playtime each day, so I really feel I am able to get a balance between my professional and personal life. Of course, sometimes I do need to work in the evening, but I always make sure I have had family time every day!”

Thank you very much to Saija for her very inspiring talk and to everyone who was able to come to this event, I know it led to some excellent discussion and make us all feel very positive about what can be achieved with passion and focus.

I look forward to continuing to see Motivating Mum East Hertfordshire develop and grow as the next set of events, to run from January/February 2013, are currently being planned.
